INVESTIGATION REFLECTION: 60% OF YOUR GRADE

These last two weeks you have worked on your investigation process. Reflect and rate yourself using the rubric PLUS copy your response to your blog. Post with the subject INVESTIGATION REFLECTION. When you are finished continue with your 3 brainstorming designs.
the last two weeks i have worked on my investigation process by grading my self i will give myself an 3-4 because i answered the question but i don't think i did a very good job. a 3-4 is a grade of 75/85. I'm giving myself those grades because my investigation didn't cover all the things that were suppose to be covered. in my investigation process  i included the type of sources that i will use for my projected i compared a comic strip poster and a power point. i realized that a power point would have been better since the things that i was grading my self on were much simple to do and figure out. since i chose a power point i figured that the 6th graders were not going to have a problem with it since they are used to seeing things on a screen and worked with technology.my investigation with the power point is going good I'm still working on it but i am going by it really quickly. i know that with my project the 6th graders will understand and enjoy all my hard work that i put in for this project so i can teach them Wat the design cycle means to me and
the teachers so they can get and idea on Wat they should think about the design cycle and how they should use it. this are most of the reasons that i decides to give my self a 3-4(75/85) on my investigation part of the design cycle.

0 You did not reach a standard described by any of the descriptors given below.

10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.
Formulate a Design Specification
  • simple for a 6th grader to understand.
  • simple to make and to understand.
  • very colorful and easy to read and to understand
  • fast and easy.
  • on a power point.
11. What are the requirements for this assignment? the requirements for this investigation are that u have to make a project to help a 6th grader understand the design cycle and how it is used at school and in every day life.
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?the limitations i have for this assignment are that i will make a power point and make it as simple as possible for a 6th grader to understand.
13. How will you "test" your project?
STUDENT SAMPLE!! DO NOT COPY THIS IS AN EXAMPLE!! (BRANDON LAU'S BLOG DO NOT PLAGIARIZEEi will test my project by teaching it the 6th graders to see if they understand and if they can figure out Wat I'm trying to explain and how it is explained to them.

INVESTIGATE:
I'm going to make a comic strip and compare it to a slide show/power point. My problem is to explain the design cycle to a 6th grader.this task is relevant to real issues because the design cycle will help u with anything that you need any projects it will help you in many stuff.
COMPARISON:
I am going to compare a slide show and a comic strip the slide show is going to be on the computer and the comic strip is going to be on a poster .I'm going to compare this two things because i thought they were easy and challenging in there own special way i am going to make sure that i try my best and do the design cycle to help but i will also use the design cycle to help the 6th graders understand the design cycle. How am i going to compare a comic strip n a poster and a slid show on the computer well i am going ton compare it by choosing which one will demonstrate the design cycle in a better way. And i will choose which one will a 6th grader understand better. That is how I'm going to compare a comic strip on a poster board and a slid show on the computer,so a 6th grader will understand the design cycle in a better way.

COMIC STRIP
On my chart for a comic strip on a poster on simplicity i gave it a 9 because its going to be simple and i want it to be simple and neat.on my color i gave it a 10 because iam going to choose lots of colors and it is going to be neat and color full it is going to have many different colors.since my comic strip is going to be on a poster i gave myself an 8 on the poster because the posters get really wrinkled and bad when u take them to school but i will try my best to keep neat until the presentation.my total score for the comic strip is a 27.

POWER POINT
Iam going to compare the comic strip to a power point.on simplicity i gave mys elf a 9 because it is going to be simple but neat.On my power point I'm going to use a lot of color so on the color i gave myself a 10.On transitions since its going to be a power point the transitions have to be steady and have to take its time but since there is not going to be much time i gave my self a 9.My total score for the power point is a 28.

Copy & paste into your blog and add to each stage as you progress through your project
Area of Interaction: Community and Service , Approaches to Learning & Human Ingenuity
Significant Concept: Design Cycle can be used to solve problems
Unit Question: How can my learning help my community? How do I make Sound Choices?
INVESTIGATE: (Write in complete sentences) Identify the Problem
1. What is the problem you need to solve? Explain to a 6th grader what the design cycle is all about by creating a presentation. (3d, PPT, movie, game, Poster)the problem i need to solve it how to explain the create part of the design cycle to a 6th grader.
2. How does the Design Cycle apply to the real world?the design cycle aplys to the real world by helping you when you go to college and get a job it will help you with many things.
3. How will this project serve my community?this project will help the comity by teaching 6th graders because they are our future.
4. How can my learning help my community?just like the 6th graders us 8th graders are also the future to our community.
5. How do we live in relation to each other?we live in relation to each other by helping and making this places better for us to live in.
6. How does this help others?the design cycle helps others by making the ire life in the real world easier and it helps us students by making our projects and our work better and more understanding.
7. What are the requirements for this assignment?our blog assignment purpose was to help us keep us more organize in the computer and to show us how to work with the computers.
8. What is the Design Cycle?
REFLECT on your learning.the design cycle is a progress that will help do a better job in our school assignments and in any other projects that we have.the design cycle can also help us when we grow up and we go out into the real whorl.that's how the design cycle will help us in every day life when we use it.
Day 2
9. Spend one day experimenting with DESIGN CYCLE your presentation. List five things your learned about the Design Cycle:today i have decided that i will choose an art drawing book and I'm going to compare it to an art book that i make my self .i will use this to help the 6th graders to understand the design cycle and what they are going to be learning during there middle school years and how it will help them in every day life when they grow up.That is what i am going to do to teach the 6th graders on the design cycle.I'am also going to help my self with this project by doing the design cycle.
Day 3
Design Brief
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment?
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?
13. How will you "test" your presentation?
REFLECT ON YOUR LEARNING
PLAN:
14. Brainstorm ideas. Use the chart below
IB Brainstorming Chart .pdf found in schoology under “materials”& then files
15. What idea did you choose to demonstrate the design cycle and why did you choose it?
16. Does your idea meet all of the requirements?
17. Use the story board paper below to plan your presentation.  Include how many levels you will have, what will be on each level, how will you include teaching skills to young students, and what will your questions be about.
story board.pdf found in schoology under “materials” & then files.
18. Explain how you will use your time to get your project finished in 12 days:
REFLECT on your learning
EVALUATE:
20. How could you improve your presentation?
21. Does your presentation meet all of the requirements?
22. Share your presentation with at least 2-8th, 3-9th, 4-10th+ friends. What did he/she like about your presentation?
23. Reflect on all the steps of the Design Cycle. What did you do well? What do you need to improve?
24. Were you responsible in using the software, Internet, pictures, and computer?
25. How can my learning help my community?
26. What grade do you deserve on this project? (1 - 6)

ATTITUDE:
27. Reflect on your attitude on each step of the Design Cycle. Did you completely answer each step without complaining, being a whiny baby, or saying "it's too hard". Explain your answer:
28. What grade do you deserve on your attitude? (1 - 6)
